After reading the books Signposts by Denise Linn and Shamanic Experience by Kenneth Meadows I am offering you a possible interpretation of this painting by the South African Artist, Idalet.
1992. Untitled. 123 cm x 40 cm. Acrylic painting on hardboard.
This painting offers a birds-eye view of a building and it may have been inspired by intuitive wisdom as symbolised by the cat ears and the pool of water.
An abrupt (indicated by the jagged red edge) path of mass destruction (a cat’s downward spiralling tail), is caused by a man wearing a black helmet, where the black helmet may relate to thoughts of death (bottom middle).
The black seat is shaped similar to a scorpion’s tail (bottom middle) which may further depict the deadly nature of the attack, his hand is on a steering rod.
There is blood loss (red blood splatter on the rooftop) and a silhouette of an aeroplane on the side of the building (top middle).
A man, green, with envy, with a black moustache is depicted below the building. The black moustache may reflect here as someone speaking of death.
A fire breaks out as seen by the red flames on the top left.
